Why this project exists
Re-Member was born from a very mundane problem: constantly losing recycling vouchers and loyalty cards, or not seeing the point of returning a single bottle.
In Ireland, Re-turn vouchers don't currently(2025) expire — but they are tied to a specific store. That's great in theory, but in practice it meant searching old pockets, rummaging through bags, or realising at the checkout that a voucher was never scanned at all. Moreover, the barcode on the voucher can be easily damaged.
The same thing kept happening with loyalty and club cards. Passwords for store apps were forgotten, screenshots of barcodes were buried in the gallery, and queues don't wait while I dig through my phone.
So the idea was simple: what if all vouchers, loyalty cards, gift cards and store coupons lived in one calm, consistent place?
The ideal flow looks like this: you scan your loyalty card at the till, and immediately see a notification about available deposit vouchers for that store. No mental tracking, no lost paper, just a clear view of what you've earned.
From there, Re-Member started to grow into a broader digital wallet for everyday Irish shopping — including planned support for gift cards, Dunnes-style coupons, gentle gamification and recycling progress, all with privacy and user control at the core.
It's still a non-commercial passion project. If this sounds like something you would actually use, tapping ❤️ and sending feedback genuinely helps decide whether a full native app should be released.
